Most of my artwork from 2006 came in the form of Touch Drawing. For years I have struggled with just letting go, just playing, which is surprising since I remember with great joy the free-play I engaged in as a child. Touch Drawing has helped me to see that I am still that child. For more information please check out the Touch Drawing website at http://touchdrawing.com.
This was a fun piece. I did several pieces that I believe had to do with my sister, brother, and myself. I don't, though, know exactly what it means except that we are conjuring up some fun. The approximate size is 9.5"x8.5". price: $150
Angel is a beautiful drawing that is full of energy. This piece is about X"xX". price: $150
These two pieces were done one right after the other. The one on the right is the negative of the one on the left. I decided to tint with inks the negative because of the powerful lines of the positive image. This is one of the glories of Touch Drawing. The negative, or even the residue, of the original drawing can be reused in some other way. Or, perhaps more importantly, as I look at the drawn-in ink on the board, I realize the unfinishedness of the piece. Each piece measures approximately 17.5x11.5". price: $150 each or $250 for the set
A glory of Touch Drawing is that I can have a concept or an idea as I start the piece, or I can just let the universe take over. And sometimes, it is a combination of the two. In this piece, I was reflecting on the death of the helicopter pilot that halted the massacre at Mai Lai in Vietnam. What a strong character he must have been. As a war veteran, I don't need to be told through a soldier's medals what his character truly is. This piece, Hero, is about 17"x11". price: $150
The Good Dream is one of my favorite pieces form last year. I love the use of imagination, but the faithfulness to my individuality. This image is wonderful in its color, subject matter, and composition. This was one of the first drawings that was created from free play that I really liked. This piece is about 17"x11". price: $150
Self Portrait from the Womb is a wonderful drawing that is straight off of the board. Here, I was using multiple boards. I started with the blue drawing, and I moved to other boards for the colors. This piece is about 17"x11". price: $150
The Burning Feathers came to me during a session where I intended on drawing the higher spirits in some fashion. It is clear that this is a copy of the burning bush story, but I still love the drawing. It is a powerful and simple piece. This piece is about 17"x11". price: $150
I recall that Free Falling came from a drawing session where my meditation was on body movement. I tried to draw experiences of my etheric body, and not just my physical body. I love the color and movement of this piece. This piece is about 17"x11". price: $150
Big Hands was from a series of drawings where I attempted to live with my body parts as if they were changed in some way. This is a powerful drawing, and I really like the way that the residue from a previous drawing lives in the background. The Buddha ear behind the crying me energizes the piece in a way that I could not have planned. This piece is about 17"x11". price: $150
I do not recall what was the genesis of this piece, or what it means. I do like the simplicity. The gentle lines and the soft ink wash really compliment one another. I would love to know what she is offering him, or, what he is demanding of her. Being an optimist, I call this Her Offering. This piece is about 15.5"x10.5". price: $150
