Alfie and I had a pretty rough start. I knew that he was replacing me in his mommy's life, or, at least partially, anyway, and I resented him for it. But I came to see how important he was to both her and Charley-Stu. And Tyrone was still with us when Suzy first got Alfie, but Alfie used to mess with Tyrone just to hear him bark. Tyrone tolerated him, but I bet if Tyrone had more than four teeth he'd have eaten little Alfie. Alfie started off his life as an abandoned puppy who was thrown in jail with a dog who had Parvo. They were going to kill Alfie, but Pet Pal Animal Shelter saved the little guy. They called Suzy immediately because they thought of Charley, who would need a brother after Tyrone died, which they both did. Alfie is not capital S smart, but he is a good boy and he does what he does, play and sleep, really well.

I love it when Alfie gets his Rasta hair going. He is so small, though, that he picks up anything he walks by. So his mommy keeps his hair pretty short.
As his momma always says, Alfie has two switches: off and on.
Alfie really loves his big brother, Charles Stuart Runge Friedman.
