| Will work for loyalty. I don't keep many people close to me, but those I keep I hold dear. For a long time I was willing to commit to a father figure even though he was not the best for me or my growth. Since then, I learned that I can still "talk" to my dead dad and that my not-dead-dad is a wonderful human being who can help me in more ways than I ever conceived. I am lucky to have had so many opportunities to learn under others, even when that lesson is what not to become. I hope I can share this with others. |
| Learning to teach has been one of the best things that happened to me. I've learned more about life, art, love, virtually everything since I started teaching then I could have any other way. I challenge my students but not nearly as much as they challenge me. For example, this semester I had a wheelchair-bound student, and I've never taught such a student before. All of my verbal lessons about engaging the entire body in drawing because drawing is a physical exercise had to be changed, but not for the majority of the students, just for her. But I now know have a better idea of how to teach a student limited by those physical abilities. |
